Captcha

Amazon Flex captcha: why it appears and what to do

By the FlexControl team · Updated

Short answer
  • A captcha is a verification step shown by Amazon Flex. Complete the instructions in the app and check the result before continuing.
  • “Captcha jail” is an informal driver term for repeated challenges. Amazon does not publish a fixed duration or a guaranteed reset method.
  • If the challenge cannot be completed or keeps returning, record the error and contact Driver Support through the app.

Why Amazon Flex shows a captcha

In its posts about bots (2023, 2024, and the 2026 UK update), Amazon says captcha puzzles appear on the offer acceptance screen when it detects bot-like behavior. Once you solve it, you carry on. Amazon calls it “enhanced captcha verification” in its March 2025 post.

Amazon does not say exactly what counts as bot-like. Drivers most often link it to:

  • Refreshing the Offers screen very fast, or the in-app “tapped too many times” message.
  • Using a bot now or in the past.
  • Many accept attempts in a short time.
These triggers are driver reports, not Amazon’s list.

“Captcha jail”: what drivers report

Drivers use “captcha jail” to describe repeated challenges during offer acceptance. The phrase is not an official account status. A challenge alone does not establish how long it will recur.

Amazon does not publish how long a captcha lasts, and driver reports vary. Keep a record of what the app shows rather than relying on a fixed number of hours from another driver’s experience.

What to do

  1. Complete the verification shown in the Amazon Flex app.
  2. Follow any wait or retry instructions on the screen.
  3. If it fails, note the time and exact message.
  4. Contact Driver Support from the app if you cannot continue.

Captcha and bots

With FlexControl, search pauses and you receive a Telegram message. Follow the instructions in that message. Fully automatic captcha handling is in development.

Use /status for the current search state. A challenge is not a booking confirmation; check your Flex schedule for accepted blocks.
