Step 1: cancel the block now
Open the booking in your Flex calendar or the confirmation in Telegram. After cancelling, verify the result in your Flex schedule.
In the Flex app. Amazon's FAQ describes it: go to Calendar, tap the day of the block, tap Forfeit Block, tap "Forfeit This Time" and swipe to confirm.
In FlexControl. The Telegram message you got for the booking has a one-tap cancel. It cancels the block in Amazon Flex, under the same rules and limits as cancelling in the app. Then check with /calendar that the block is gone from your schedule.
Don't wait to see if you might make it after all. The 45-minute line is fixed by the block's start time, not by when you decide.
Step 2: know which side of the line you're on
These are Amazon's own rules, from the Flex FAQ and the standings post.
| When you cancel | What Amazon says |
|---|---|
| 45 minutes or more before the start | An on-time cancel. Your standing is not affected. |
| Block accepted less than 45 minutes before start, cancelled within 5 minutes of accepting | An on-time cancel. |
| Later than that | A late cancel. "Isn't good for your standing or the customer." |
| You don't cancel and don't arrive | Worse than a late cancel. Repeated no-shows are reviewed manually, and Amazon decides if you can keep delivering. |
Amazon also says: "Your standing and eligibility to deliver may be impacted if you have multiple late cancellations." It does not publish how many late cancels lead to action. Pages that give an exact number are guessing.
Set your stations, minimum pay and hours. FlexControl searches in the real Flex app on your own device. You stay in control through Telegram. Try it free for 3 days, no card required.
Step 3: if it's already too late
If you're past the 45-minute line, cancel anyway. Amazon says a late cancel affects your standing less than not cancelling and not arriving.
If something serious happened, like an accident or an emergency, contact Driver Support and explain. Amazon's FAQ lists:
- In the app: the question mark icon (?) in the top-right corner → Driver Support.
- Phone: 888-281-6906.
- Email: [email protected].
Amazon does not promise that a late cancel will be removed from your record. Don't count on it.
Step 4: find out why it was booked
A bot books what your rules allow. If it booked a block you can't make, one of the rules let it through. Check the log: it shows each offer and why it was skipped or booked. How the rules work: How Amazon Flex bots work. Then look at the usual suspects.
The arrival buffer was too short. This is the minutes you need to reach the station. If you need 45 minutes to get there, set it to 45 or more. Leave room for traffic.
The hours window was too wide. Each weekday has its own window, and the whole block has to fit inside it. If you set 06:00–22:00 "just in case", the bot will take a block at 06:00.
More than one block was booked. If "stop after one block" was off, the bot keeps looking for blocks that don't overlap. That can fill a day you meant to keep short.
Your plans changed after you started the search. Saved rules apply at the next start. If your day changed, stop the search and update the rules.
A station you can't reach was on the list. Check the station list after any change to your Flex filters.
Settings that prevent it
- Set the arrival buffer to your real travel time plus a margin.
- Set hours for each day to the time you can actually work, not the time you're awake.
- Turn on stop after one block on days you only want one.
- Turn off days you can't work at all.
- Stop the search when your plans change. Search runs only in your hours, but it can't know about a doctor's appointment.
Review your settings before the next search
Before restarting, check the station, travel buffer and weekday hours that allowed the booking. Keep the rules aligned with the work you can attend. See how filters work.
Questions
How late can I cancel an Amazon Flex block without a penalty?
Amazon says at least 45 minutes before the block starts. If you accepted the block less than 45 minutes before its start, you have 5 minutes after accepting.
What happens if I cancel late?
Amazon says it isn't good for your standing. Several late cancels can affect your eligibility to deliver. Not showing up at all is worse.
Can my bot cancel the block for me?
FlexControl has a one-tap cancel in the Telegram booking message. Amazon's usual cancellation rules and limits still apply.
Should I update my filters after cancelling?
If the block did not fit your plans, review the station, schedule and arrival buffer before starting search again.
How do I stop the bot from booking blocks I can't reach?
Set the arrival buffer to your real travel time, narrow your daily hours, and turn on "stop after one block".
